Accuracy

How close repeated measurements are to the true value.

The closeness of repeated measurements on average to the actual or true value, regardless of the consistency of the measurements. Often confounded with repeatability and reproducibility. The figure shows a case where three archers are each accurate and reproducible, but not precise.

Technical note: if individual testers are always accurate, then the test must necessarily be repeatable and reproducible.
